Gary Lesko was named principal of Milton M. Somers Middle School in 2024. Prior to serving as principal at Somers, Lesko was principal of Eva Turner Elementary School for five years and vice principal at Mattawoman Middle School for four years. He also served as an administrative assistant at St. Charles High School. He began his career in education with Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) as a government teacher at Henry E. Lackey High School in 2002 before moving to North Point High School in 2006.

Mr. Lesko holds a Bachelor of Science from Frostburg State University and a Master of Arts in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College. He is a National Board Certified Teacher in the category of Social Studies – History Adolescence and Young Adulthood. Mr. Lesko is passionate about his role as a leader, and is committed to supporting staff, students, and families and serving the Somers community.
